IoT platform software development
NextWR writes the software that connected products run on and report into. The hardware is somebody else's business; the platform, the integration layer, the APIs and the applications are ours.
A connected product is a chain of software with a physical object at one end. A terminal reads a fingerprint or a card, decides what to do when the network is unavailable, queues the event, syncs it when connectivity returns, and reports its own health while doing so. Behind it an API accepts those events, a database stores them, a dashboard shows them and a mobile application notifies someone. Every link in that chain is software.
The hard parts are not the happy path. They are provisioning a device so it can be trusted without an engineer on site, handling a terminal that has been offline for two days and now wants to send everything at once, making an event idempotent so a retry does not double-count an arrival, and keeping clocks honest enough that the order of events survives.
Remote management matters as much as the events themselves. A fleet that cannot be inspected is a fleet that gets visited. NextWR builds the reporting side into the platform: memory and processor use, temperature, active status, last activity, connectivity, and a record of which devices have which configuration.
Authentication flows for fingerprint and RFID or card readers are part of the platform software, as is connectivity handling across 4G, Ethernet and Wi-Fi. NextWR does not manufacture hardware and does not resell devices.
What is included
- Device-to-cloud synchronisation with offline queueing and idempotent events
- Device provisioning, configuration and remote management
- The API terminals talk to, and the dashboards above it
- Device monitoring: memory, processor, temperature, connectivity, last activity
- Authentication flows for fingerprint and RFID or card readers
- Connectivity handling across 4G, Ethernet and Wi-Fi
Not included
- Hardware design, manufacturing and certification
- Device resale or supply
- Radio and electrical compliance testing
Common questions
Do you build the hardware?
No. NextWR writes the software: what runs on the terminal, the API it talks to, the platform that stores and processes events, and the dashboards and mobile applications above it. Hardware design and manufacturing sit with a partner or with the client.
What happens when a device is offline for a long time?
It keeps recording locally and queues events. When connectivity returns it replays them, and the API treats each event as idempotent so a retry cannot double-count. The dashboard shows the device as last seen rather than pretending it is live.
Projects that use this
IoT attendance platform
BassmaPro
An attendance and access platform for schools, companies, hospitals and organisations. A terminal reads a fingerprint or a card, the platform records the event, and a parent or an administrator sees it.

What device monitoring on constrained hardware actually needs
A fleet that cannot be inspected remotely is a fleet that gets visited. Useful monitoring is a handful of signals, reported honestly, that answer one question: can this device do its job right now?
